Viking Earthday Presentation
Elementary to hold our annual Earthday presentation. We had three
stations total: floriculture, bucket tomato, and plant your own
vegetable. At the floriculture station the students learned some fun
ways they can use flowers such as making them into floral cakes!
Friday, April 23rd a we took a group of FFA members over to Viking
The bucket tomato showed the kids how to recycle an old bucket, as
well as one way they can grow their tomato plant besides planting it
Friday, April 23rd a we took a group of FFA members over to Viking
in the ground. Finally, at the vegetable station, the kids got to do a
hands on activity where they planted a tomato, green pepper, or
broccoli plant in their own pot made from newspaper, another
recycled material. They also got to take home a house plant.
Dakota, Rachel, Austin and Alex at a tomato station.
At the bucket tomato station we enjoyed teaching the kids, and letting
them get involved. They had a blast, and got to learn a little about
recycling and growing their own products!
Macy, Elaine, Kelly, and Sarah did a great job showing what flowers
can be used for at the floriculture station.
Overall it was a great day and all members involved had a good
leadership experience by interacting with the elementary students. The
kids were very eager to be involved and loved the plants they got to
take home as a souvenir!
